About 40 Assumption Sisters are gathered in Paris for the 1st Chapter of the new European Province from England, Belgium, Lithuania and Italy.
For many years now, our six provinces (England, Italy, Spain, France, France Notre Dame, Europe North) in Europe have set out on a journey of continental restructuring.
At the time of the General Chapter in the summer 2018, the new Province of Europe was born, starting with 4 countries: England, Belgium, Italy and Lithuania.
The sisters are now gathered in Paris from 1-3 November for the first chapter of the new province - which will include the election of the the new provincial council.
The meetings will be followed by a special celebration on Sunday 4th November with Mass in Auteuil at 11:30am where co-workers and friends are also invited.
Please keep the sisters in your prayers - may the Holy Spirit guide and inspire them on this journey towards a united new European Province!
From St Marie Eugenie onwards, the Religious of the Assumption have a beautiful custom of the Superior General writing a 'Chapter', an extended reflection, for the great Feast of Christmas. Below is Sr Rekha's Chapter, addressed to all sisters and friends of the Assumption.
